Creating Timeless Memories in the Heart of Scotland

Our Story

  • Bachilton Barn is over 150 years old. The farm has been in the England family now for 3 generations and was originally famous for its potato farming. Bachilton remains a working arable farm, growing various grains like rapeseed, wheat and peas. We do have the odd sheep and cows from friendly neighbouring farms who come and graze to help Farmer Dave keep the grass down!

The farm is made up of 740 acres of land and the views are totally different depending on the season that you visit. In winter we have beautiful frosty mornings, spring we have blossom trees in full swing, summer has fields of golden wheat and plenty of lush green trees and in autumn the whole place turns beautifully orange as the leaves change.

Our five cottages, Lochy, Langside, Ninetrees, Dove Cote and Cairnies, that we offer originally used to be where the farm hands stayed. These were converted into cosy warm holiday lets that our couples could use. In 2021 we added hot tubs to the cottages to create a nice relaxing environment for all our guests!

In summer of 2021 we also added a fountain to the pond and built two Mongolian-style yurts just behind our venue to create more bed space for wedding guests. They’ve proven extremely popular with our couples and we are even considering adding a few more!

  • Our guests can enjoy the communal space opposite the pond which features a pretty gazebo. There is also a terrace situated around the pond - the perfect spot to have a picnic! We can also offer our guests a range of country pursuits and a number of fun activities on-site like Combat Archery or Highland Games. Ask when booking for more info as these activities must be booked in advance of arrival. Bachilton Farm Holidays is situated ideally between Perth and Crieff, with plenty of things to do in this gorgeous part of Scotland. Perthshire is full of castles, distilleries and golf courses. It is also a wonderful place for hill walking and golfers will appreciate the many golf courses. There is an exciting range of outdoor active things to do and many local places of interest.

At Bachilton Farm it’s genuinely important to us that we minimise our impact on the natural environment. As a team we are exploring all parts of the business to ensure we are working in the most economical and environmental ways to improve the business. We realise there will always be more we can do for the environment so through our appointed ‘green team’ we will can continually look for new initiatives.
